The Tate House
We've had several days of celebrating mom this week for Mother’s Day - dinner and going to the Tulip Festival. But I was most excited to give her and dad the painting of "The Tate House." They bought their home the year I was born (1960). It has been a place of gathering and love for as long as I can remember. Making a house a home is no easy task. But there is no greater gift that a mother and father can give their children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Thanks mom and dad for making the Tate House my home.
Love you both forever!

Jackson Tate's Memories
I remember a bunch of things growing up. I remember the kids table at the back of the kitchen. I remember always running to the back room with the tv to pick the movie to watch (Big, Cool Runnings, Hearts and Souls, etc.), then sneaking out to get creamies, fat boys, and fruit by the foot. I remember playing in the basement bedrooms and storage rooms feeling like they were vast and endless.
I remember Grandma taking Sid and me to plays and shows at the Scera Shell, and she would always sneak in some candy to make the trip extra fun. It was usually sleeves of Snickers or Charleston Chews. It was always a treat to be with her and experience new things with her.
Anyway you slice it, Grandma is a phenomenal woman. We are lucky to be her family.

Grandma and Bowie
Bowie and grandma just disappeared at dinner one evening. I went back and found him completely involved in the book she was reading with him. He never sits that still that long ever, and he was so pleased to just be present with her.

66 Years Together!
The house they bought 60 years ago and made into a home.
The porch swing- a staple and favorite spot on the patio. And a great place to attempt a kiss and laugh at the result of that attempt.
And all of those memories exist because of the two lives that came together 66 years ago!
