As Becky noted in her post on the 2021 Tulip Festival, it was such a fun day and something both mom and dad really enjoyed. I wanted to make sure we did it again. So the first day the tickets went on sale, I jumped on to ensure we got a golf cart!
Thanksgiving Point had stopped letting people reserve carts. After many emails and explanations that this could be my dads last opportunity to attend the festival, I was told that they would make an exception. About a month later, dad passed away before we could get him there again.
So I emailed the lady and told her we could now wait for a cart and we didn't need one reserved. She shared her condolences and said she would still have the cart ready for us in honor of dad.
When we got there, she not only had the cart ready to go, but she had a gift package for mom! She gave us coupons for free drinks and even had a bouquet of tulips for mom.
It was such a special day where we enjoyed each others company and celebrated dad and his love for Holland. The lady at Thanksgiving point had no idea how much her kindness meant.
Mom felt like a tulip queen!
